When a vehicle is totaled, claims and billing are handled separately. While the claim itself is managed through State Farm Claims, policy cancellations and billing are processed at the corporate level, not directly through the local agency. Because of this, a bill can sometimes generate automatically until the policy is formally updated or canceled through the proper process. We completely understand how confusing and frustrating that can be, and we’re always happy to help explain next steps or assist in getting everything resolved as smoothly as possible during an already stressful time.
